PassageManager is ChartCo’s flagship software, supplied to all subscribing vessels. Ease of installation and use has been paramount when designing this market leading application. This means no engineers are needed when commissioning the ChartCo service.
PassageManager allows access to ChartCo’s full range of services through an intuitive graphical interface providing ‘at a glance’ monitoring of all update statuses. With minimal ‘clicks’ paper and electronic product catalogues and outfits can be displayed together with any correction or permit status.
PassageManager has been designed to facilitate the easy management of a data library which may consist of paper and electronic products and a bridge that uses ECDIS as well as more traditional methods of managing important navigational data.
PassageManager now includes fully automated routeing and distance tables, allowing routes to be created almost instantaneously and transferred to and from most ECDIS systems as well as providing full integration with third party applications such as ADMIRALTY TotalTide.

PassageManager can create a comprehensive but fully customised passage plan within minutes. The passage plan is designed to meet bridge procedure guides, Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and can be varied to meet the requirements of each vessel. The interface is designed around an easy-to-follow wizard ensuring that no part of the complex process may be missed. Following completion of the plan it can be saved, exported and recalled for quick modification or approval at any time.
ChartCo also recognises that the increasing use of electronic data means that purchasing and updating activity is changing. Using PassageManager allows baskets of product requirements to be automatically generated from the route and sent to either the on-shore office for approval or direct to ChartCo. The supply of permits is then fully automated and takes only a few minutes.
ChartCo’s interest does not stop with data updates. Traditional methods of updating ENC data is through CDs or DVDs which means a ship can never be truly up-to-date. PassageManager allows ENC cells to be downloaded individually or as folios, making sure that a vessel has access to any new cell or new edition as soon as notification has been received whilst still minimising data costs.

PassageManager allows ‘at a glance’ monitoring of product status for any route. Once plotted, the route can be ‘filled in’ with paper and/or digital products required. The system automatically provides the status of each product using a simple colour code.
Using the passage planning facility, the user can easily identify which products are not currently in the ships outfit or which electronic products do not have a valid permit. These paper products and permits can then be ordered from the vessel’s chosen supplier.
